The Art Legacy League is announcing an Art community outreach program of OPEN STUDIOS. The first part of this program will be Drop-in art classes at the JB Young Opportunity Center beginning Monday, March 5. Experienced classroom proctors will be on hand to provide help for calligraphers and those interested in wanting to learn the basics of drawing and illustration. These sessions are offered at no cost but donations will be accepted. ALL classes will be held in JBYOC Room 134 from on the first and third Mondays of the month.
A class will be provided by the instructor as a suggested activity for those attending. More advanced people may simply bring along their projects and use the time and space provided to enjoy the atmosphere of the classroom without the stress of doing what everyone else is doing. They may choose to share ideas with one another and in some cases talk about new products they have found.
Experienced people would bring their own materials for their own use. The ALL would provide some simple materials for beginners or those who don't have their own. These will be available to use in class or for purchase to take home.
Calligraphy: We will provide handouts and reed pens or marker calligraphy pens for use in class or for purchase. Multipurpose 8 1/2 x 11 inch paper is provided for use in class.
Drawing: We will provide multipurpose paper and #2 pencils for use in class for those who don't have their own materials.
The Open Studio Drop-in Class schedule is as follows:
